Northern Illinois University Law Students Rank 6th in the Nation at the American Bar Association Negotiation Competition

DeKalb, IL—Third-year NIU Law students, Michael Kirkwood and Reagan McGuire placed 6th in the nation at the 2004-05 Negotiation Competition National Finals.  Sponsored by the American Bar Association (ABA), the competition took place during the ABA mid-year meetings held in Salt Lake City, Utah, February 12th and 13th. 

Regional competitions began last fall with 195 teams.  Following a strong performance, Kirkwood and McGuire were one of 24 teams that advanced to the national competition.  Their strong showing at the national competition was highlighted in the second of the two preliminary rounds where they received the highest score of all competing teams.
