HR Strategies and Solutions one-day seminars focus on relevant and emerging topics to help HR professionals become effective strategic business partners and contribute to the overall success of an organization. Linking the People Side of the Organization to the Business Strategy

Course Description
This interactive workshop is designed for the experienced HR professional, manager and supervisor who is ready to strengthen their day-to-day management practices while linking their work to the overall organizational business strategy.  Topics include: Positioning HR as a strategic business partner; Clarifying internal clients and their HR service requirements; Using a consultative model to implement best practices.  Skills for managing conflict resolution, negotiation, challenging employee situations, managing poor hire results, career path challenges, rewarding and recognizing performance, legal and compliance issues will be addressed in this session.  Learning activities include group discussion, self assessments, development of a personal action plan for improvement of management skills, case study analysis and best practices sharing.

Dr. Turnquist is a highly engaging and creative problem solver specializing in performance management and leadership and organizational development. His practical experience as Director of talent management, leadership and learning, and organizational development and training combined with experience as a business consultant helps participants to understand the integral role effective management practice plays in the success of today's business organization.

HR Strategy, Politics and Cooperation After the Labor Contract is Signed

Course Description
Common practice after the CBA is signed is to stick to the black and white of contract language but executing your human capital strategy in a union environment is a study in shades of gray. Join us as we explore ways to drive your corporate values, HR strategy and ultimately, the success of organization by bringing your labor management strategy into alignment with managing the requisite culture change. In this session you will learn how to align your current approach to labor relations to your business strategy, use traditional labor tools and techniques to establish and sustain a new corporate culture of cooperation, and assess the effectiveness of your labor strategy implementation.

Executing a Performance Management Strategy to Drive Business Success

Course Description
Implementing and utilizing a performance management system that links individual performance to the overall business strategy is a primary driver of business success. The performance management process is key to development of managers and employees within the organization and HR plays an integral role in that process. This interactive workshop will clarify the role of HR leaders in the performance management process and engage participants in case study activities to identify and apply best practices as they evaluate a wide range of performance management tools and assess their own organization to determine how to best link performance results to the organization's business success.
