Sigma Tau Delta presents a variety of international scholarships each year. Chapters may nominate three members to apply for each of the Junior, Senior, Graduate and Study Abroad Scholarships, worth up to $2,500 apiece. Chapters may nominate three members for the Regnery Scholarship, endowed in 1992 in honor of Henry Regnery, the noted publisher. This scholarship, worth up to $2,500, is given to an outstanding student scholar. Chapters may also nominate three members for the new Sigma Tau Delta Scholarship. This scholarship, worth $3,000, is given to an outstanding student scholar who has performed outstanding service to Sigma Tau Delta. In addition to the scholarships, runners up in the Junior, Senior, Graduate, and Sigma Tau Delta Scholarship categories are presented with awards of up to $500.

The Central Office sends scholarship information to every chapter in September. Application forms may be downloaded via this web page. Applications should demonstrate both academic scholarship and chapter service.

Mail Application forms to:
Dr. William C. Johnson
Sigma Tau Delta Executive Director
Dept. of English
Northern Illinois University
DeKalb, IL 60115-2863

Before receiving their stipend, recipients are required to provide proof of registration in at least 50% of a full load of courses as part of an English degree program. Should winners not be able to provide such verification at the beginning of the fall semester following their application process, their awards will be presented to alternates. Awards are usually determined by March 31 and typically are announced at the annual convention.
