2009 Minneapolis Convention
The 2009 Sigma Tau Delta Convention will take place March 25-28 at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Convention Theme
As Minnesota is the source of the Mississippi River, the waters and the worlds reflected in the waters of Minnesota are the source for the 2009 Convention theme of Reflections. On a literal level, Reflections may refer to the relationship between the sky and the waters, and between the natural world and the human-made world. On a figurative level, the theme of Reflections refers to the contemplative meditations on the individual and on society often experienced in the presence of natural wonder. Furthermore, Reflections can open up the theme to the numerous ways human endeavor and creativity are influenced by the natural world.
The name Minnesota comes from a Dakota Indian word meaning "water that reflects the sky."
