Convention Update

The Sigma Tau Delta 2010 International Convention will be held March 17-20 at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch, St. Louis, MO.

Submission Notifications
Notifications have been emailed to those chosen to present at the convention. Notifications for resubmitted papers will be emailed next week.

Program Schedule
A schedule of sessions will appear on the www.englishconvention.org website in two weeks.

Chairs of Sessions and Sponsor Moderators Needed
We are in need of students to serve as chairs of sessions and sponsors to serve as moderators of sessions. If you are planning to attend the convention in St. Louis, please volunteer to chair or moderate a session or two by emailing Convention Chair, Carrie Fitzpatrick, at sigmataudeltaconvention@gmail.com.

Early Registration Ends February 21
Everyone attending the convention, including presenters, guests, and panelists, must register for the convention. Those registering by February 21, will receive an early registration discount. Those registering after the early registration deadline will pay the full fee. See convention registration for details.

Hotel Reservations
Sigma Tau Delta has reserved a block of rooms for the convention at a special group rate of $119 per night for single to quadruple occupancy (excluding taxes). This special group rate is available until February 21, OR until the room block is full, whichever comes first. See hotel reservation Information.

Better World Books Summer Internship

Application deadline - February 15
Hurry! Only three more days remain to apply for the Better World Books 2010 Summer Internship. One lucky undergraduate student member of Sigma Tau Delta will experience the online book industry, with a focus on sustainability, for six consecutive weeks, beginning June 7, 2010, in Alpharetta, Georgia. The recipient will work 30 hours per week earning $10 per hour as well as receive an additional $1,500 stipend to assist with travel and housing expenses.


Penguin Group (USA) Summer Internship

Application deadline - February 28
The Penguin Group (USA) Summer Internship is a ten-week internship in New York, NY, with exact dates to be determined by agreement between the recipient and Penguin Group (USA). The recipient will work 28 hours per week earning $7.25 per hour. For the 2010 summer internship, Sigma Tau Delta will provide the recipient with an additional $1,500 stipend to assist with travel and housing expenses.
