Call for Convention Panels
Panel submissions due: December 15
Students, faculty members, and Alumni Epsilon Chapter members* may propose panels on suggested topics or topics of general interest to both the discipline and the Society. Panel presentations may be either 50 minutes or 75 minutes in length.
A chapter is permitted a maximum of two panel submissions. All panel proposals must be submitted online by December 15, 2010.

Convention Update
The Sigma Tau Delta 2011 International Convention will be held March 23-26 at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown, Pittsburgh, PA.
Paper Submissions
A record 950 paper submissions were received, a 10 percent increase over last year. Submissions will be read and evaluated by Convention Chair Sarah Dangelantonio and a select group of judges. Notification will be sent by January 30, 2011, via email, to the finalists selected to present at the convention.
Early Registration Opens January 10, 2011
Everyone attending the convention, including presenters and panelists, must register for the convention. Those registering by February 21 will receive an early registration discount. Those registering after the early registration deadline will pay the full fee. See convention registration for details.

2011 Summer Internships
Application deadlines are coming up soon for two paid summer internship opportunities co-sponsored by Sigma Tau Delta:
Better World Books: Application deadline - February 7
The Better World Books Summer Internship is a six-week internship beginning in early June 2011. The recipient will work 30 hours per week, earning $10 per hour, in Alpharetta, Georgia, in the Atlanta metro area. For the 2011 summer internship, Better World Books will provide the recipient with an additional $1,500 stipend to assist with travel and housing expenses.
Penguin Group (USA): Application deadline - February 7
The Penguin Group (USA) Summer Internship is a ten-week internship in New York, NY, with exact dates to be determined by agreement between the recipient and Penguin Group (USA). The recipient will work 28 hours per week, earning $7.25 per hour. For the 2011 summer internship, Sigma Tau Delta will provide the recipient an additional $1,500 stipend to assist with travel and housing expenses.

Central Office Holiday Closure
The Central Office will be closed for winter break December 17, 2010, through January 2, 2011. Write Away! will be active during the break, but email and phone support will not be available.
The Central Office will re-open Monday, January 3, 2011.
