Convention Submissions Due Nov. 12The submission process for the Sigma Tau Delta 2013 International Convention closes at midnight CST on November 12. Especially consider submitting on the theme of "Open Book" or the Common Reader of "Ex Libris: Confessions of a Common Reader." Be sure to check Hints for Success and Evaluation Criteria before making submissions. Membership is required for submission acceptance. Sponsors, please make sure that all students who have submitted work for the convention have active status in Write Away!, Sigma Tau Delta's online chapter management system. Volunteer to Evaluate Convention PapersSponsors, please consider volunteering a few hours of your time to evaluate convention submissions in late November-early December. The continued success and exponential growth of our convention require more submission evaluators than ever before. Your help will ensure that we reward the most successful among our submitters with coveted spots on this year's program. If you are willing to evaluate submissions for the 2013 Convention, please email Gloria Hochstein at englishconvention@niu.edu. Include your name, email address, school, contact phone number, number of submissions you are willing to evaluate (usually 20-40), and your top three (ranked) preferences from among the submission categories no later than Thursday, November 8. New BWB Campus Book Drive ChallengeBetter World Books (BWB), Sigma Tau Delta's National Service Partner, has issued a challenge: if 13 more chapters commit to running a BWB Campus Book Drive by Thanksgiving, BWB will randomly select one of them to win a basket of leadership books! The BWB Campus Book Drive is a turnkey project, including all supplies, promotional materials, packing supplies, and shipping costs. Last year, BWB paid Sigma Tau Delta chapters over $16,000 for accepted books. View the results of the top 25 campus book drives.
