Convention UpdateThe Sigma Tau Delta 2013 International Convention will be held March 20-23 at the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower. Early Registration Now Open Hotel Reservations Paper Presentations and Roundtable Discussions Chapter Sponsor Moderators Needed Program Events Noteworthy Chapter ActivitiesThe Noteworthy Chapter Activities Database is now live. Taken from the Chapter Annual Report, the database contains descriptions of the most noteworthy activities various chapters engaged in over the last two years. Members can sort the list by activity type, year, and/or school in order to find out what other chapters are up to and to get ideas for their own chapter activities. Contact information for each chapter is included so that chapters can get in touch with each other to learn more about past projects, team up to form partnerships, or connect with chapters that have similar interests. The database will be updated every year after the Chapter Annual Reports are filed. 2013 Summer InternshipsJanuary 31 is the application deadline for two paid summer internship opportunities co-sponsored by Sigma Tau Delta: The Better World Books six-week paid summer internship is offered to members who have or will be participating in a Better World Books Campus Book Drive. Beginning in early June 2013, the recipient will work 30 hours per week, earning $10 per hour, in Alpharetta, Georgia, in the Atlanta metro area. Student Leadership OpportunitiesSigma Tau Delta's student and alumni leaders are chosen at the international convention. These positions provide excellent opportunities for students to network, gain valuable leadership skills, and learn about how Sigma Tau Delta functions at the regional and international levels. The two Student Advisors are actually voting members of the Board of Directors, attend fall and spring Board meetings (and the convention), and work closely with all the Student Representatives and Regents. Truly committed, organized, creative, and dependable members are invited to apply, by February 15, for one of the two Student Advisor positions. Applicants must be willing to make a two-year commitment to serve, if selected. Leadership Duties and Applications Meme ContestSubmissions are now open for the first ever Sigma Tau Delta meme contest.
