Service Project: Little Free Library
English Honor Societies is partnering with Little Free Library to create a global network of book-sharing libraries! Sigma Tau Delta and NEHS have already supported numerous chapter-sponsored Little Free Libraries through the societies' respective Chapter Service Project Grants, and now we’re excited to expand this initiative, inviting even more chapters and communities to join the movement.
Building and maintaining a Little Free Library does more than just promote literacy and a love of reading among English Honor Societies student members and their communities. It fosters community connections, enhances access to books, encourages sustainability and book reuse, inspires generosity, and offers a platform for cultural exchange.
Imagine a chapter-sponsored Little Free Library in every community, making books available to anyone who wants to read them! English Honor Societies and Little Free Library share a vision where everyone is empowered by the opportunity to discover a personally meaningful book, unrestricted by time, space, or privilege. Their mission is to build community, inspire readers, and expand book access for all through a worldwide network of volunteer-led Little Free Library book-exchange boxes. We are eager to help them achieve this incredible mission!

The Alpha Epsilon Alpha Chapter at The College of New Jersey opened their Little Free Library with the help of a Sigma Tau Delta Chapter Service Project Grant in 2022.

If you would like to start your own Little Free Library book-sharing box, you can save $60 on your order when you purchase a library and Sigma Tau Delta Sponsor Plaque ($24.95 value) together. Follow the steps below to take advantage of our partnership:

- When you have everything in your cart, move to the check out page and enter your shipping information and payment details. The $60 discount should automatically appear on the checkout page.

If you have already created your own book-sharing box, you can get a FREE Sigma Tau Delta Sponsor Plaque ($24.95 value) with the purchase of a Little Free Library Charter Sign. Follow the steps below:
- Add your Sigma Tau Delta Sponsor Plaque to your cart.
- Select which Charter Sign you would like to add to your Little Free Library.
- Choose any accessories that you may be interested in adding to your library, and add those to your cart.
- When you have everything in your cart, move to the check out page and enter your shipping information and payment details. The discount should already appear.
- Click submit, and get excited about joining the Little Free Library community and being able to take advantage of the additional resources that come with having a registered Little Free Library book-sharing box!
