E. Nelson James Junior Scholarship ($3,000 each)
	Joseph Gamble University of Alabama (S) Phi Xi Chapter Joseph Gamble is a senior at the University of Alabama majoring in English with minors in Creative Writing and French. He has published poems, essays, and book reviews in several literary journals including Ninth Letter and PANK, as well as a chapbook of poems from Chantepleure Press, and plans to pursue an M.F.A. in Poetry.
	Laura Williams Rockhurst University (MW) Alpha Mu Gamma Chapter Laura Williams is a senior at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO, pursuing a B.A. in English and Secondary Education. Laura works as a writing tutor in the university's learning center and served as editor-in-chief of the 2013 installment of Infectus, Rockhurst's student literary and visual arts journal. This is her second year on the Alpha Mu Gamma Chapter's executive board. She plans to pursue an M.A. in English and eventually teach English at the secondary or postsecondary level.

	Hannah Humphrey Mississippi State University (S) Xi Kappa Chapter Hannah Humphrey, a senior at Mississippi State University, is pursuing a B.A. in both English and Foreign Languages, and minoring in History. Hannah has served as the President of the Xi Kappa Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, and as Editor-in-Chief of The Streetcar, Mississippi State's Creative Arts Journal. After graduation in May of 2014, she hopes to earn both a J.D. and an M.A. in English, before eventually pursuing a career in public policy.
Elva Bell McLin Senior Scholarship ($4,000 each)
	Katie Miller Oral Roberts University (SW) Alpha Iota Psi Chapter Katie Miller recently completed her B.A. in English Literature at Oral Roberts University, where she served as the Sigma Tau Delta Vice President. In the fall, she will begin a funded master's degree in Contemporary Literature at the University of Manchester in England. Katie eventually aims to earn a Ph.D. in English Literature and to become a professor of contemporary literature and gender theory.
	Lindsay Cameron Ashland University (E) Alpha Beta Phi Chapter Lindsay Cameron, a senior at Ashland University in Ashland, OH, is majoring in creative writing, journalism, and Integrated Language Arts Education for grades 7-12. She will graduate with a B.S. in Education in May 2014. Lindsay served her Sigma Tau Delta chapter as Vice President for one year and President for two years. After graduation, she plans to teach high school English, while pursuing writing endeavors in fiction, memoir, and poetry. She hopes eventually to enter an M.F.A. program for creative writing.

	Elijah Edwards University of Kentucky (S) Delta Epsilon Upsilon Chapter Eli Edwards, a native of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, recently graduated summa cum laude from the University of Kentucky (UK), where he earned a B.A. in Secondary English Education and a B.A. in English and Linguistics. He served as President of Sigma Tau Delta's Alpha Phi Omega Chapter, the Student Senate, and the College of Education Council of Student Leaders. Eli will return to UK this fall to pursue an M.A. in Secondary English Education.
Edwin L. Stockton, Jr., Graduate Scholarship ($4,000 each)
	Jennifer Doyle-Corn Florida State University (S) Rho Epsilon Chapter Jennifer Doyle-Corn is a doctoral candidate in the literature program at Florida State University, where she focuses on post-1900 Irish literature and culture studies with an emphasis in contemporary Irish theatre. She is the 2011-13 graduate student representative to the American Conference for Irish Studies and currently serves as the Treasurer of the Rho Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta. Jennifer received a B.A. and M.A. in English from Western Carolina University.
	Gretchen Frank Illinois State University (MW) Lambda Delta Chapter Gretchen Frank, a Ph.D. candidate in English Studies at Illinois State University (ISU), is writing her dissertation on the British Victorian family. She earned her M.A. from ISU and her B.A. from Bradley University, both in English. She joined the Beta Lambda Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta as an undergraduate and now works with the Lambda Delta Chapter in her role as co‑founder and organizer of the English Studies At Large Conference for undergraduate research.

	Gwendolyn Edward University of North Texas (SW) Tau Delta Chapter Gwendolyn Edward is an M.A. candidate in Creative Writing at the University of North Texas (UNT), where she also studies Anglo-Saxon literature. She served as Treasurer of her Sigma Tau Delta chapter during the 2012-2013 academic year, and works closely with the American Literary Review and North Texas Review, UNT literary journals.
William C. Johnson Distinguished Scholarship ($5,000)
	Catherine Bailey Western Michigan University (MW) Alpha Nu Pi Chapter Catherine E. Bailey is pursuing her Ph.D. in English at Western Michigan University. She has an M.A. in English and a Graduate Certificate in Gender and Women's Studies from the University of Rochester. Catherine loves to teach and after graduation hopes to continue her career as an educator.

	Rachel Jones Notre Dame of Maryland University (E) Alpha Alpha Chapter Rachel Ann Jones recently earned a B.A. in English with a concentration in creative writing from Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU), and plans to attend graduate school to study poetry. Rachel served as President of her school's Sigma Tau Delta chapter and was a member of Notre Dame's Field Hockey and Lacrosse teams.
Sigma Tau Delta Study Abroad Scholarship ($3,000) First Round
	Donald Brown Mississippi State University (S) Xi Kappa Chapter Donald Brown, a senior at Mississippi State University, is double majoring in English and Philosophy. He plans to go to graduate school to get his Ph.D. in English, most likely specializing in African-American Literature. Last summer he pursued African-American Studies at the University of Iowa and this summer he will study abroad at the University of Oxford.
Second Round
	Russell Willoughby University of Alabama (S) Phi Xi Chapter Russell Willoughby is a junior at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL, where she is pursuing a B.A. in English with a minor in French. She is dedicated to fostering literacy and creative arts endeavors on campus and in the community and hopes to further these efforts upon graduating. Russell will spend the next year studying abroad in Paris, France, at the Cours de Civilisation Francaise de la Sorbonne.
Regent Scholarships ($1,000 each) Eastern
	Sarah Green Southern Connecticut State University Omicron Chi Chapter Sarah Green is enrolled in the B.S. English degree program (with teaching certification) at Southern Connecticut State University. She is actively involved on campus as a Peer Mentor, orientation staff member, Student Government Association representative, and President of the Omicron Chi Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta. Sarah aspires to be a secondary school English teacher and plans to continue her education, next pursuing an M.A. in English.
Far Western
	Maryellen Diotte California State University - Fullerton Alpha Delta Zeta Chapter Maryellen Diotte graduated from California State University, Fullerton, where she earned her B.A. in English and worked on a senior honors thesis investigating the origins of American literature through early American literature anthologies. She plans to pursue her M.A. in English Literature at the University of Kansas, focusing on racial and national identity and transnationalism in nineteenth-century American literature. After earning her M.A., she intends to pursue her Ph.D. and ultimately to become a college professor.
Midwestern
	Kara Salmon Bradley University Beta Lambda Chapter Kara Salmon is a recent graduate of Bradley University in Peoria, IL, with a B.S. in English Secondary Education. In addition to being a member of the Beta Lambda Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, Kara trains service dogs for a local organization. This fall she will begin student teaching in the Peoria area.
Southern
	Casey Milliken University of North Carolina, Wilmington Alpha Alpha Upsilon Chapter Casey Jordan Milliken is a senior at the University of North Carolina Wilmington pursuing a B.A. in English (Literary Studies), a B.A. in Communication Studies (Performance Studies), and minors in Creative Writing and Journalism. He plans to continue his education in graduate school for both Literature and Performance, further making connections between written and oral storytelling. His academic interests include narrative journalism, applied theatre, performance ethnography, and Welsh culture.
Southwestern
	Bethany Jackson Oklahoma Baptist University Chi Delta Chapter Bethany Jackson, a senior from Fort Worth, TX, is pursuing a B.A. in English and minors in Music and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, OK. After graduation in May 2014, she plans to begin her graduate studies in literature and ultimately to pursue a teaching career in higher education, instilling in her students a passion for language and literature that crosses cultural barriers.
P. C. Somerville Teaching Awards ($2,000 each)
	Katelyn Bruffy The College of New Jersey (E) Alpha Epsilon Alpha Chapter Katelyn Bruffy graduated summa cum laude from The College of New Jersey with a B.S. in Elementary Education and English. She served as Treasurer for the Alpha Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta during her junior year, and is looking forward to beginning her career as an elementary school teacher this fall.
	Brian Hartt The College of New Jersey (E) Alpha Epsilon Alpha Chapter Brian Hartt, a recent graduate of The College of New Jersey, majored in English and Secondary Education. He served as Co-President of his chapter and Sigma Tau Delta's Eastern Associate Student Representative for the 2012-2013 academic year, and looks forward to working as a high school English teacher.
Part-Time Undergraduate Scholarship ($2,500)
	Areej Dwikat Tennessee State University (S) Alpha Alpha Eta Chapter Areej Dwikat is a senior at Tennessee State University seeking a B.S. in English with minors in Spanish and Psychology. She hopes to teach in a high school setting and also intends to pursue her master's degree.
Summer Program Scholarship ($1,000)
	Amadi Ozier University of West Georgia (S) Pi Omicron Chapter Amadi Ozier is a recent college graduate with a B.A. in English from the University of West Georgia. While at school, she received several departmental and university-wide awards for both her critical and creative work, and presented her research at several national and regional conferences throughout the country. Her critical essays often concerned spectacle, poststructuralism (especially in relationship to race and gender), and female spaces in literature. She looks forward to continuing her literary obsessions while traveling abroad this fall.
